Thank you for your interest in being an entertainer at Utah Winter Faire's Goblin Masquerade and Marketplace. We truly could not do it without your willingness to share talents.  We are planning a  very interactive, immersive experience.

The Goblin Royal Has Issued an Invitation to All and Sundry to Attend a 2 Day Celebration of all things Magical.

Portals have opened from all mystical, and fantastical realms into the Goblin Kingdom. From Steampunk to Fantasy, Medieval and Renaissance, even the Land of the Pirates, adventurers will join the celebration.

We would like a few  color characters or groups. Preference is absolutely for Goblin concepts.  Color characters move around through the Faire in character to interaction with the patrons.
Roving interactive characters should have a good concept for their character and a "hook" for engaging patrons. Apply under the "color character" category.

We accept applications from dance groups, musicians specializing in folk or historical music (solo and ensemble), magicians, etc.
Submitting this application does not guarantee selection.  Qualified applicants may be requested to provide an audition video or attend an in-person audition.  You will be contacted via the email you provide in the application below if selected.

    Entertainer Code of Conduct

PATRON INTERACTION  Character entertainers should remain in character any time you are in sight of patrons.  Remember, the fantasy is what it is all about!  The magical feeling of immersive events  come when people feel that have been transported to somewhere different, and it is hard to feel transported if entertainers are talking about car troubles or eating a tuna fish sandwich from a plastic box.  (Just some examples!)  We also know that it is a LOT of work to stay in character for that amount of time.  We want to make sure you take care of yourselves, and take time to refresh so you can be your best.  To that end, there is an area behind the event rooms where you can go.

RESPECT   Be polite and respectful of others. Events require us to work very closely with each other. It should go without saying, that a task is made easier through cooperation and respect. Everyone should be treated as we ourselves would like to be treated.

LANGUAGE   We anticipate that children will attend, and we want to make sure we maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all our Patrons.  Please do not use any vulgar or offensive language anywhere in the building.

PROPERTY OF OTHERS   Do not touch, pickup, etc. things that are not your own. Many of the props, costume items, and tools of the trade from other entertainers and vendors are unique pieces, difficult to come by, or expensive and should not be used without prior permission from the owner.  On that note, if you have an item that you specifically want to be display only, we recommend having a small, polite sign with this information.

HARASSMENT Real or potential harassment, sexual or otherwise, will not be tolerated.  This applies to everyone: patron, vendor and entertainer alike. If you feel harassed, go to someone on the Safety Team so we can take action.

DRUGS AND ALCOHOL   If you have a prescription for medication, please take it as directed. Be sure to notify UWF personnel of any serious medical condition, so we can take it into account if dealing with you during any emergency.  If you have illegal possession of a controlled substance, we will have no choice but to eject you and contact local law enforcement.
No alcohol possession and/or consumption is allowed at this event.

SMOKING  We are regulated under the Utah Clean Air Act, which prohibits smoking inside or within 25 feet of the building. This law applies to both traditional cigarettes as well as e-cigarettes. State of Utah definition: “E-cigarette means any electronic oral device that provides a vapor of nicotine or other substance and which simulates smoking through its use or through inhalation of the vapor through the device; and includes an oral device that is composed of a heating element, battery, or electronic circuit and marketed, manufactured, distributed, or sold as an e-cigarette, e-cigar, e-pipe, or any other product name or descriptor, if the function of the product meets the definition of an electronic oral device.”

    ENTERTAINER EXPECTATIONS

STAGE Please be prompt for any scheduled slots on the stage and be courteous to the next act by not going over time.  Where possible, we request that a couple minutes at the end of your slot be used for turnover to the following entertainer(s).  We will have a sound system.  If you have any unique specific requests regard sound, please contact us in advance.

GREEN ROOM  The Green Room is the place to go to take a short break and eat, get hydrated, etc. If you are doing any sort of costume change, it is probably best to use one of the restrooms rather than the Green Room area.  We will have our Safety Committee out and about, but please take all reasonable precautions to protect your belongings.  The Green Room will provide some privacy, but we hope you will all remember that what you say and do in the Green Room can, and probably will be overheard by Patrons.

By indicating your agreement below you agree to be bound and to follow all outlined policies listed.
